About The Position

The Senior Director, Biotech Business Development (West Coast) is responsible for leading revenue growth within the Biotech market segment, with a strategic focus on expanding Signant Health’s clinical technology services and solutions. As an individual contributor, you will drive complex, enterprise-level sales initiatives across your assigned territory and accounts. You will partner closely with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to build long-term customer relationships, develop tailored proposals, and achieve or exceed annual sales targets. This is a high-impact role suited for a strategic, consultative sales leader with deep expertise in clinical research technology and the pharmaceutical/biotech landscape.

Requirements

  • Proven success in a strategic business-to-business sales role selling complex technical solutions within pharmaceutical, CRO's, or biotech organizations
  • Deep expertise in clinical research technology and eClinical solutions
  • Demonstrated leadership in proposal development and bid defense processes for large, complex deals
  • Strong strategic planning capabilities with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present solutions, vision, and strategy to executive stakeholders
  • Experience building and managing complex sales pipelines with accurate forecasting
  • Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and a results-driven mindset
  • Ability to influence stakeholders without formal authority and build consensus across cross-functional teams
  • Experience within the Clinical Research / Life Sciences industry
  • Collaborative leadership style with experience working in matrix environments

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Experience selling eClinical or SaaS-based technology solutions to pharmaceutical, Biotech, or CRO's
  • Familiarity with Salesforce.com or other CRM systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Experience working within a global organization

Responsibilities

  • Achieve annual sales goals for assigned Biotech accounts and West Coast territory
  • Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans aligned to financial year objectives
  • Lead complex sales initiatives across Signant Health’s clinical technology portfolio, serving as the primary customer contact
  • Partner with internal teams (Solutions Architects, Contracts and Proposals, Technical Solutions, BD Operations, and Operations) to deliver tailored, high-value proposals
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with executive-level decision-makers within Biotech organizations
  • Manage a comprehensive sales funnel and pipeline, providing accurate quarterly and annual forecasting
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align customer strategy, initiatives, and long-term partnership opportunities
  • Represent Signant Health at industry conferences and commercial events to enhance brand visibility and generate new leads
  • Contribute to overall Biotech Business Development strategy while meeting or exceeding individual revenue targets
  • Support additional commercial initiatives and strategic projects as required
