  • Strong ability to mentor and train junior engineers and document complex architectures for operational handover.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to 1) partner with a diverse stakeholder base to understand needs and develop technology requirements that deliver on them, and 2) articulate complex technical concepts to both technical teams and executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-vendor issues under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and architecture of our next-generation VDI/DaaS platform, integrating Citrix DaaS (or Virtual Apps and Desktops), Windows 365, and Amazon WorkSpaces into a cohesive and performant hybrid solution.
  • Develop technical roadmaps for the EUC environment, including migration strategies, lifecycle management, and adoption of new technologies (e.g., containerization, secure browser isolation).
  • Ensure the VDI/DaaS architecture adheres to security best practices (Zero Trust, least privilege, data encryption) and organizational compliance standards.
  • Conduct capacity planning, demand forecasting, and performance modeling to ensure the environment is correctly scaled, optimized for cost, and highly available.
  • Design and implement robust Disaster Recovery (DR) and Business Continuity (BC) plans for all virtual desktop infrastructure.
  • Implement, configure, and maintain core components of Citrix (Cloud Connectors, StoreFront, WEM, Director, NetScaler/Gateway), Windows 365 (Cloud PCs, Intune integration, provisioning policies), and Amazon WorkSpaces.
  • Develop automation and orchestration scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Terraform, Python) for provisioning, monitoring, image management, and system tuning.
  • Manage and optimize desktop images (Golden Images) and application layering technologies (e.g., FSLogix, Citrix App Layering) to ensure a fast, consistent, and resilient user experience.
  • Serve as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical issues related to VDI/DaaS, including logon latency, network performance (HDX, PCoIP), security, and application delivery problems.
  • Collaborate with Network, Cloud Infrastructure (Azure/AWS), and Security teams to integrate VDI/DaaS solutions seamlessly.
