About The Position

The Senior Digital Workplace Engineer - Messaging, Collaboration, and Productivity is a key technical leader responsible for architecting, engineering, and sustaining enterprise-wide messaging, collaboration, and productivity platforms. This individual serves as the senior internal subject matter expert (SME) across messaging and collaboration platforms, partnering with IT, Security/Identity, and business partners to deliver scalable, secure, and supportable solutions aligned with the organization's digital workplace strategy. From an operations perspective, this role drives performance, reliability and compliance across environments, implements automation to streamline efficiency and provides support/escalation for service continuity. From a strategy perspective, this leader drives cross-functional collaboration for cohesive capability delivery, leads platform modernization efforts and shapes the roadmap for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in enterprise messaging, collaboration, and productivity architecture, user experience, and systems.
  • Deep expertise with Microsoft 365 platform administration and engineering - including Exchange Online, Teams (chat, meetings, and voice), SharePoint Online, and OneDrive
  • Proven experience implementing unified communications and productivity solutions across diverse platforms.
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional project management and enterprise-scale deployments.
  • Strong understanding of messaging infrastructure including servers, networking, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Advanced knowledge of DNS, SMTP, email routing, email tracking, and mail relay configurations.
  • Experience with Active Directory in complex environments involving cross-forest/domain trust relationships.
  • Familiarity with networking technologies including firewalls, proxies, routers/switches, VPN, network protocols, and telephony integration.
  • Ability to produce technical specifications, installation guides, test plans, and white papers.
  • Experience aligning technical solutions with IAM and ISO security frameworks and compliance mandates.
  • Hands-on experience with Entra ID and Intune solutions.
  • Proven experience implementing unified communications via Microsoft Teams (Enterprise Voice, Shared Devices, Rooms Pro, Premium, Advanced Townhall).
  • Curiosity and ownership mindset to deliver end-to-end capabilities and partnerships that enable the art of the possible across the organization

Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and engineering of enterprise messaging, collaboration, and productivity services.
  • Design and implement integrations with enterprise platforms such as ServiceNow, Workday, and Palo Alto Cortex.
  • Oversee deployment and optimization of advanced digital workplace technologies.
  • Resolve escalated L3-level issues and provide technical mentorship to L1-L2 support teams (CSD, Concierge Services, Field Services, Executive Support, Messaging and Collaboration Operations).
  • Facilitate enterprise-wide change management initiatives, including major migrations and rollout of new capabilities.
  • Analyze service performance reports, usage metrics, and error trends to guide operational decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal security policies and external regulatory requirements in partnership with IAM and ISO.
  • Maintain architectural documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base content.
  • Serve as the senior SME for Messaging, Collaboration, and Productivity, supporting the target support model and architecture.
  • Drive enterprise-scale projects and initiatives led or supported by the Digital Workplace Services organization.
  • Lead the architecture and engineering of the Microsoft 365 tenant, Exchange infrastructure, and related services.
  • Deploy and optimize Microsoft 365 technologies including Teams Premium, Advanced Townhall, Teams SMS texting, Copilot, and Vivia platform.
