About The Position

From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection. We are known for developing extraordinary leaders who share this passion and are guided by their service to others. Join the Starbucks Planning team and help shape the future of our coffeehouses. This role sits at the intersection of store development and design - supporting the materials and design elements that bring new stores and renovations to life across North America. As a senior demand planner in Store Development, you’ll play a critical role in building a more demand driven planning organization. You’ll help define how we shape demand, influence item launches, and scale processes to support a large and growing renovation footprint. If you enjoy working in ambiguity, partnering across functions, and translating complex data into clear plans for senior leaders, this role is for you.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive supply chain experience and managing demand plans and forecasting
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience demand planning outside of traditional demand planning systems.
  • A strong foundation in S&OP fundamentals and cross functional planning.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, design, and implement process improvements.
  • An endlessly curious, growth oriented mindset with a passion for diving into data to inform decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex insights for diverse audiences—from technical teams to senior executives.
  • The confidence and influence to lead through ambiguity, build alignment, and drive consensus across many stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own end to end forecasting for store development design items and new store concepts, blending Excel based statistical models, business strategy, construction timelines, and emerging store formats into a credible, actionable demand plan.
  • Partner closely with cross functional stakeholders including Finance, Facilities, Design, Construction, and Supply Chain to influence item launches, top line demand assumptions, and substitution strategies.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to improve forecast accuracy, reduce bias, and develop tools and metrics that elevate planning rigor.
  • Advocate for supply chain needs and present demand plans, tradeoffs, and scenarios to VP-level audiences, ensuring alignment with new store openings and renovation targets.
  • Help build scalable planning processes that support a high volume, fast moving store development and renovation portfolio.

  • As a Starbucks partner, you (and your family) will have access to medical, dental, vision, basic and supplemental life insurance, and other voluntary insurance benefits.
  • Partners have access to short-term and long-term disability, paid parental leave, family expansion reimbursement, paid vacation from date of hire, sick time (accrued at 1 hour for every 25 hours worked), eight paid holidays, and two personal days per year.
