About The Position

As a Database Administrator at Fiserv, you will be deeply involved in all aspects of designing, managing, and optimizing the company's data infrastructure. You will help provide the foundation that powers product platforms, while partnering with internal teams to ensure data reliability, performance, and scalability across Fiserv systems. Additionally, you will play a key role in evaluating and adopting new database technologies to help move the organization forward.

Requirements

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Senior-level experience administering and optimizing MySQL databases in production environments.
Strong understanding of database performance tuning, backup/recovery, and high availability strategies.
Experience with database monitoring, instrumentation, and observability tools.
Curiosity and willingness to explore and adopt new technologies.

Nice To Haves

Working knowledge of Oracle databases is a plus
Experience with Couchbase or other NoSQL databases is a plus

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain scalable and high-performing database systems, with a primary focus on MySQL.
Support and optimize current database infrastructure, ensuring performance, availability, resilience, and proper monitoring.
Troubleshoot database issues in collaboration with infrastructure and development teams.
Investigate and resolve issues related to client integrations and data workflows, developing industry-standard solutions.
Administer and support additional database platforms such as Oracle and Couchbase where applicable.
Continuously evaluate emerging database technologies and recommend improvements to modernize our data ecosystem.
Exhibit strong communication skills and effectively collaborate across teams.
