About The Position

This position provides infrastructure -level database administration support for a complex Oracle environment. The role will help maintain continuity during a transition period and support a portfolio of large, enterprise applications. The Senior Database Administrator will support multiple versions of Oracle in a high -availability environment, ensuring stability, performance, and reliability of database systems. This role operates within a 24x7 environment and may involve occasional after -hours support as needed.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in database administration, with a focus on Oracle (18c or newer).
  • 5+ years of experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Experience supporting high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) environments.
  • Experience with database replication and backup strategies.
  • Experience supporting clustered database environments.
  • Strong experience monitoring and troubleshooting production database systems.

  • Prior experience working in large, enterprise or public -sector environments.

Responsibilities

  • Assess impacts of system changes and emerging technologies; recommend solutions to ongoing issues.
  • Follow and help maintain database standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Monitor database storage and capacity; perform adjustments in non -production environments as needed.
  • Estimate and plan for database storage requirements based on business needs.
  • Tune and adjust database parameters to support performance and capacity changes.
  • Configure and execute database integrity checks; monitor results and address issues.
  • Install and maintain database software, patches, and updates in development and test environments.
  • Support database maintenance activities such as space management and fragmentation resolution.
  • Execute scripts for database object creation and modification (tables, indexes, views, etc.).
  • Monitor scheduled jobs and processes across environments; assist in troubleshooting failures.
  • Monitor database environments using logs, alerts, and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues.
  • Support adherence to best practices for database performance, capacity, and reliability.
