Are you a Senior Database Administrator with deep expertise in Snowflake and Azure Cloud? Join Multnomah County as a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) to lead our transition from on-premise servers to a modern cloud architecture. We are seeking a technical lead to ensure our data systems are secure, optimized, and ready for the future. Please read the Minimum Qualifications for all of the requirements for this position. In this role, you will: Keep things running: You will manage our databases every day, making sure they have enough space and are set up correctly for our team to use. Lead our move to the cloud: You’ll help us redesign how we store data, shifting from older on-site setups to modern cloud technology like Azure, Google GCP and AWS. Protect our data: You will design the plans for backing up information and making sure we can get it back quickly if something goes wrong. Fix and improve: You’ll spend time finding bottlenecks that slow us down and fixing them so everything runs as fast as possible. Draw the blueprints: Using data modeling tools, you will create the maps that show how all our different pieces of information fit together. Help the team: You’ll be a mentor for other IT staff, helping them solve tricky coding problems or teaching them how to use new database tools. Stay updated: You will keep our software safe by installing the latest updates and patches, and you’ll keep learning about new trends in tech As a person, you are: Service-minded: You believe in acting with integrity and making sure our work helps everyone in the community fairly.
