The Senior Database Administrator is a highly experienced and motivated team member who is responsible for ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of our databases. They serve as a senior product owner for databases and the operating systems including life cycle roadmaps for releases, and upgrades. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the success of our company by managing and optimizing the database infrastructure that supports our critical business systems. What you will do here: Database Management: Manage and administer the company's database systems, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and reliability. Implement and maintain database security measures to protect sensitive data. Performance Tuning and Optimization: Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks. Optimize database configurations and conduct regular performance tuning activities. Database Design and Architecture: Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database structures that support the requirements of our business systems. Ensure that database designs adhere to best practices for scalability, maintainability, and efficiency. Backup and Recovery: Implement and manage database backup and recovery processes to ensure data integrity and availability. Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures. Database Upgrades and Patching: Plan and execute database software upgrades and patches in coordination with IT stakeholders. Ensure the accessibility, retrievability and security of specific subsets of database and indexing. Stay informed about the latest database technologies and recommend upgrades as needed. Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Respond to database-related incidents and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve database-related challenges. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures. Provide training and support to junior database administrators as needed.
