About The Position
Walmart is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to leverage advanced analytical techniques and data science expertise to drive business insights and solutions. This role involves identifying and sourcing relevant data, developing and validating predictive models, and deploying scalable analytical solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate across functions to translate complex business challenges into data-driven strategies, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Proficiency in programming, statistical methods, and data visualization is essential to support decision-making and mentor team members in delivering impactful outcomes. The International Data Science team applies advanced analytical methods and machine learning to solve complex business challenges across global markets. Leveraging expertise in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data visualization, the team delivers actionable insights that support strategic decisions. Collaborating with cross-functional partners, members ensure scalable model deployment while upholding data quality and governance standards. The team fosters continuous improvement by adopting innovative tools and best practices, maintaining a results-driven environment aligned with business goals to generate value worldwide.
Requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey modeling decisions and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, operations) to deliver measurable impact.
- Expertise in Python, with proficiency in libraries such as Pandas/Polars, NumPy, PySpark, TensorFlow and/or PyTorch, and a strong understanding of GPU utilization.
- Extensive hands-on experience in software development, mathematical/scientific computing, and deploying large-scale AI/ML/DS solutions in parallelized cloud compute environments (ideally GCP).
- Strong understanding and practical application of MLOps concepts like traceability, reproducibility, and scaling, using tools such as Google Vertex, MLFlow, or ClearML.
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 years' experience in an analytics related field.
- 5 years' experience in an analytics or related field.

Responsibilities
- Problem Formulation & Business Collaboration: Translate complex business challenges into analytical solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements, identify opportunities, and deliver scalable, data-driven solutions.
- Data Exploration & Preparation: Identify, evaluate, and leverage Different datasets. Ensure data quality and apply feature engineering techniques to support robust modeling and analyses.
- Advanced AI/ML Development: Design and develop state-of-the-art algorithms, AI/ML models, and optimization techniques to generate actionable business insights. Focus on interpretability, scalability, and strategic impact.
- Model Deployment & MLOps: Validate and monitor AI/ML models post-deployment, leveraging MLOps best practices such as CI/CD pipelines, performance tuning, and effective systems integration.

- The annual salary range for this position is $90,000.00 - $180,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
