Job Purpose Honda's Service Technical IT Applications unit is seeking a highly motivated, team oriented and customer focused Sr. Data Science & Business Intelligence Analyst aligning with the Sales Applications strategic direction, and IT support and delivery standards. The Sr. Data Science & Business Intelligence Analyst role is to elicit, analyze, specify, and validate the business needs of stakeholders. This includes leading stakeholders interviews, gathering and compiling user requirements to understand the technology solutions and data they need. The analyst will be responsible for leading and advising the team through effective communication, analytical expertise, and problem-solving abilities to support informed technology decisions within the business. This role is essential in ensuring that IT thoroughly understands and aligns with business requirements.

Requirements

  • Information Systems / IT / Computer Science related Bachelor Degree and/or equivalent relevant work experience
  • At least 5 or more years of progressive experience, with demonstrated capability in IT Business Analysis methodologies and the implementation of Business Intelligence and Advanced Analytics solutions.
  • Expertise in leading BI and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI etc)
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and system integration principles.

  • Industry experience: Experience in the Automotive After-Sales Service Applications
  • Drive consensus for a desired future state that meets the business problem and enterprise objectives
  • Assists the project manager in preparing and facilitating the project plan for projcts as needed.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for data investigation and report development. Experience with configuration or orchestration tools relevant to Data Science (e.g., Python/R for analysis and data manipulation is a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of complex, standardized enterprise-level data analytics, reports and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics.
  • Bridge the gap between the technical output of data science models (developed by Data Scientists/ML Engineers) and business users, focusing on the technical integration and providing functional interpretation of model outputs.
  • Oversee implementation of predictive data model outputs into operational systems (e.g., configuring an application to consume a prediction score), ensuring seamless data flow and integration across IT systems.
  • Utilize advanced SQL skills to perform deep-dive data investigations, validate data integrity for BI reporting, and build complex views necessary for visualization and analytical consumption
  • Act as a functional and technical expert to gather, document, and manage detailed business and system requirements for new data marts, BI and Data Science platforms, and advanced analytical solutions.
  • Work with Data Engineering and IT Architecture teams to translate business needs into feasible technical designs, ensuring solutions align with IT standards, scalability, and security policies
  • Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including creating test cases/scenarios, end-user reviews, for modified and new systems. Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for data solutions, overseeing the UAT phase to ensure the deployed technology and analytical output accurately meets documented business requirements prior to go-live Provide orientation and training to end users for all modified and new systems.
