About The Position

Bluefish is on the cutting edge of AI-powered SaaS, helping brands understand their performance and optimization in the new AI funnel. As part of our Marketing Services team, we’re looking for a Senior Customer AI Researcher to lead the charge in uncovering how AI models perceive, rank, and recommend the world’s leading brands. In this role, you will be the technical engine of our research arm. You aren't just looking at data; you are conducting sophisticated experiments to understand the mechanics of the AI-powered internet. You will bridge the gap between abstract marketing questions and hard technical evidence, ensuring every insight we deliver is defensible, credible, and actionable.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in technical research, data science, or performance-based marketing analytics within a SaaS or agency environment.
  • Technical Mastery – Hands-on experience with LLM configurations and prompt engineering. You are comfortable building complex queries and designing intuitive BI dashboards.
  • Analytic Rigor – You have a proven ability to manage large datasets and the "detective" mindset required to find patterns in the noise of AI-generated responses.
  • Strategic Translation – You can take a high-level marketing question and break it down into a technical measurement plan with clear "can/cannot" parameters.
  • Collaboration & Communication – Excellent at working cross-functionally with both creative/editorial teams and technical/engineering teams.
  • Precision & Craftsmanship – You have an eagle eye for detail. You take pride in delivering "clean" data and believe that the credibility of our brand rests on the accuracy of your work.
  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in a research-intensive field (e.g., Data Science, Economics, Statistics, or Computer Science) or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • SEO/SGE Mastery – Experience with Search Generative Experience or traditional SEO tools (Ahrefs, SEMRush, etc.).
  • Technical Writing – Experience contributing to white papers, industry reports, or technical blogs.
  • Automation Skills – Familiarity with Python or API-based workflows to streamline data collection and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Implementation & Ownership – Own the end-to-end technical research stack, including platform specifications, configurations, advanced prompt engineering, custom queries, and the architecture of client-facing dashboards.
  • Thought Leadership & Industry Insight – Generate high-impact thought leadership ideas by synthesizing industry trends, internal best practices, and deep-dive platform knowledge into fresh perspectives for the market.
  • Measurement Scoping & Analysis – Translate strategic briefs into rigorous data requirements. You will define the boundaries of our research by scoping what can be captured within the platform versus what requires bespoke external analysis.
  • Editorial & Data Credibility – Partner closely with the Editorial Director to co-author content briefs, ensuring that all data-driven narratives are technically sound, defensible, and meet the highest standards of credibility.
  • Data Synthesis & Insights – Responsible for delivering clean, structured datasets and distilling them into the "top 3" most actionable insights that drive immediate value for our clients.
  • Operational Excellence & Scalability – Build and maintain the "Research Playbook." You will create scalable processes that allow our team to conduct deep-dive audits for clients faster and with higher precision.
  • Product Strategy Partnership – Act as a critical technical bridge, providing our Product and Engineering teams in Berlin with direct evidence from the field on platform performance and emerging AI model behaviors.
