Seeking top talent to join our growing ITility team. ITility is seeking a Senior Corporate Controller to join our talented corporate team onsite in a hybrid capacity, 2-3 days per week in Chantilly, VA . This position will be responsible for all areas relating to ITility accounting and finance functions. Specifically, the Sr. Corporate Controller will oversee financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems, and carrying out annual budgeting, audit and forecasting activities. In addition, the Controller will help establish and institute foundational government cost accounting functions to include indirect rate cost account monitoring and development of provisional forward rates and preparing for DCAA reviews and audits. Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or related field (Masters degree preferred)
  • Over 10 years of experience in General Accounting.
  • Experience monitoring the profitability of all contracts.
  • Experience in a variety of accounting functions to include:
  • Financial Accounting and reporting
  • Project Accounting
  • Accounts Payable
  • Fixed Asset Accounting
  • Inventory Accounting
  • Sales and Use Tax Reporting
  • Corporate Tax Reporting
  • 1099 Tax Reporting
  • Payroll Processing (CONUS and willingness to learn OCONUS payroll processes)
  • US government Cost Accounting (Accounting for Unallowable Costs)
  • Certified expertise in Deltek Costpoint
  • Proficient in the integration of Deltek Cost Point and ADP.
  • Microsoft Office and advanced Excel expertise

Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of indirect rates including monthly reporting
  • Oversee preparation and review of general ledger entries, payroll transactions/reconciliation, accounts receivable/payable and any general ledger adjustments.
  • Oversee an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close.
  • Oversee accurate and timely processing of payroll, CONUS/OCONUS, and positive pay transactions.
  • Oversee monthly and quarterly Bank Compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Managing accounts receivable, bank and credit card reconciliation and internal controls related to financial reporting, labor accounting, accounts payable, project accounting, fixed assets, inventory, and tax compliance.
  • Working directly with ITility PMs and Contracts team to manage the company’s project accounting processes and ensure that customer contract costs are properly accounted for, billed, and invoices are collected according to payment terms.
  • Provide financial analysis statements including monthly balance sheets, income statements, cash flows statements, and actual to budget and last year variance analysis.
  • Manage the Company’s yearly external audit process.
  • Monitor revenue, expenses, and future budget changes while evaluating financial data, and prepare reports and charts on finances.
  • Manage the establishment and maintenance of US Government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) Disclosure Statements (if applicable) and related administration requirements.
  • Prepare and support annual proposal to establish final billing rates (incurred cost submission), including performance of internal transaction reviews of discretionary accounts.
  • Review journal entries and cost transfers.
  • Support the review of contracts and proposals, ensuring that proposal pricing is correct, that required financial data is auditable and presented in accordance with proposal
  • Responsible for maintaining and managing indirect rates in the accounting system monthly reporting, true-up and year-end.
  • Work closely with contracts and pricing staff to ensure that forward pricing rate submissions and contract proposals utilize current, accurate and complete cost or pricing data.
  • Establish and maintain effective records to support Government audits and fact-finding.
  • Drafts and coordinates review of responses to Government requests for records.
  • Oversee all accounting and financial activities for the Company, including administration and improvement of the accounting and billing systems, strategic analysis of financials; support and advise the CEO in decision making.
  • Develop and maintain systems of internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization and oversee federal awards and programs and the preparation of the annual financial statements is in accordance with U.S. GAAP and federal, state and other required supplementary schedules and information.
  • Train the finance and accounting organization and other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters
  • Create and maintain the annual corporate budget in accordance with the FAR to submit indirect rates to DCAA
  • Support proposal pricing and analysis of rate pools
  • Ensure adequate controls are installed and that substantiating documentation is approved and available such that all purchases may pass independent and governmental audits
  • Ensure all purchases, including payroll, align with the corporate budget
  • Oversee the production of monthly reports including reconciliations as well as financial statements and cash flow projections for use by Executive management, as well as the Audit/Tax vendors and the bank
  • Collect, analyze, track and report data (including Company metrics, smart numbers and key performance indicators) to identify trends, patterns, issues and opportunities that have an impact on the business and use the data to help make sound business decisions/recommendations
  • Supports Company battle rhythm to include weekly executive meeting, the monthly business performance review meeting and quarterly strategy meeting; attends business development meeting as required.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate files in support of Accountants’ functional responsibilities.
  • Providing ad hoc financial reports or related support as needed.
