About The Position

The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for supporting the month-end close process, preparing accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and assisting with financial reporting and audits. This role serves as a key member of the accounting team and provides guidance to junior staff while improving accounting processes and internal controls. The Senior Corporate Accountant's primary responsibilities include preparing journal entries, account reconciliations, and documenting and evaluating current procedures and processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
  • 3--5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or public accounting environment.
  • Experience with general ledger systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP).
  • Experience with financial statement preparation and audits.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and accounting principles.
  • High proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Clear and professional communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.

  • CPA or CPA candidacy preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Prepare consolidated financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Assist with external audits, including preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests.
  • Support the preparation of regulatory filings, tax reports, and compliance documentation.
  • Ensure accurate intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  • Assist in the implementation and documentation of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and other departments to support business initiatives.
  • Recommend and implement improvements to accounting processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Investigating, validating and creating balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Implementing process improvements and controls
  • Providing general assistance in completing the month end accounting close
  • Completing sales & use tax filings
  • Assisting with and coordinating the annual audit
  • Working with the FP&A group to investigate and review monthly actual-to-budget variances
  • Working with various internal groups and departments to coordinate and communicate appropriate accounting treatment/implications
