About The Position

The Senior Corporate Accountant plays a critical role in Quantum’s financial reporting, month-end close process, and financial planning activities. This position partners closely with senior leadership to deliver accurate financial reporting, actionable analysis, and insights that support operational, financial, and strategic decision-making. Reporting to the Controller, this role will serve as a key contributor in a private equity-owned, growth-stage manufacturing and engineering environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related quantitative field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in mid-to-large organizations as part of a collaborative finance team; solo practitioner experience does not qualify. Strong general ledger expertise required.
  • Experience in manufacturing or engineering environments with solid knowledge of US GAAP and standard costing.
  • Proficiency with large ERP systems (JD Edwards EnterpriseOne preferred), including system implementations or upgrades.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required, including advanced Excel skills (beyond basic formulas) and working knowledge of Word and Teams for effective collaboration and communication.
  • Regular and punctual onsite attendance for all scheduled work hours is an essential function of this position.
  • Candidates must have access to reliable transportation to ensure timely arrival for scheduled work hours and occasional off-site travel for business-related tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead key components of the month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger review.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Statement of Cash Flows, and Equity).
  • Oversee full-cycle accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and policy compliance.
  • Perform bank reconciliations and prepare weekly cash and bank reports for the Board of Directors.
  • Maintain fixed asset schedules, including additions, disposals, and depreciation.
  • Manage financial reporting databases and perform sales, margin, cost, and profitability analysis using large datasets.
  • Support ERP system enhancements, process improvements, and dashboard reporting for executive leadership and the Board.
  • Coordinate audit, tax, and banking requests; assist with federal, state, and local tax filings, 1099s, and property tax reporting.
  • Code purchases and ensure proper tax collection and compliance.
  • Lead special projects and ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
