About The Position

We are seeking a seasoned Controller to lead and evolve our accounting function during a critical growth phase. This is a senior, high-impact role responsible for owning the full accounting life-cycle, strengthening controls, enhancing reporting, and building scalable processes to support a multi-entity, healthcare billing organization. Our ideal candidate will bring strong accounting expertise and experience in transaction-heavy, healthcare billing environments. We seek a professional who is both hands-on and strategically minded, capable of leading with confidence and a commitment to excellence. This role partners closely with executive leadership and plays a key role in shaping the company’s financial infrastructure. We are a leading third-party Medical Billing and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) organization. Serving healthcare providers across multiple States and a growing international team, we work closely with our clients as true partners to maximize reimbursement and financial performance. Our growth has been intentional and rapid. As a result, we’re building a best-in-class finance function that can scale with the business. We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on leader who enjoys building structure, refining processes, and supporting a dynamic organization's growth and development. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA strongly preferred
  • 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3-5+ years in leadership
  • Strong command of GAAP, revenue recognition, and financial reporting standards
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online in a multi-entity environment
  • Advanced Excel skills; comfortable with data analysis and financial modeling
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management capabilities
  • Clear, confident, and professional communication skills
  • Responsive nature with the ability to pivot between competing priorities
  • Self-starter, able to work autonomously and on a team
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and react with discretion

Responsibilities

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, management reporting, and variance analyses
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all financial reporting to senior leadership
  • Partner with leadership to translate financial results into actionable insights
  • Coordinate external audits and manage relationships with auditors
  • Design, implement, and improve accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls
  • Lead and optimize accounts receivable (client invoicing) and accounts payable functions
  • Build and maintain across-the-board accounting policies and procedures
  • Drive process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, scalability, and accuracy
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to assess accounting and close performance
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls aligned with GAAP and best practices
  • Oversee accounting systems, upgrades, and optimization initiatives
  • Ensure appropriate approval workflows and segregation of duties
  • Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing accounting team
  • Oversee department hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-oriented team culture
  • Manage relationships with external technology vendors and accounting partners
  • Develop vendor evaluation and performance management processes
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, healthcare industry regulations, and internal policies
  • Stay current on healthcare billing considerations and revenue recognition standards
  • Partner with legal and compliance teams on regulatory and risk matters
  • Oversee tax preparation, filings, and compliance activities
