About The Position

The Content Management organization at WPP Production is responsible for publishing creative assets, experiences, and critical digital content to our client websites and other platforms across the globe. A Senior Content Manager reports to the Senior Manager, Interactive Content Management and manages a team that works closely with both the Content Management organization and external teams to ensure all client interactive deliverables are completed accurately and on time. This includes ownership of the content management and publishing operations in support of our client’s product launches and other digital marketing programs, including setting up and managing page structure and content in a CMS (content management system). Core responsibilities of a Senior Content Manager include managing team resources and performance, day-to-day content management tasks, cross-functional collaboration across the organization, leading projects or initiatives from the content management perspective, and maintaining full knowledge of an ever-changing set of tools and processes. (Note: This is a role focused on top-quality content production and publishing, with strong experience in managing a team and optimizing processes and productivity. It is not a content creation, design, or marketing job.)

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience working on web production teams
  • 2+ years team and people management experience
  • Experience with localization and managing content for a global audience, using a CMS
  • Deep knowledge of how content management and other related system processes work
  • Knowledge of HTML, XML, JSON, and enterprise CMS
  • Record of troubleshooting and diagnosing CMS issues, and communicating those issues to both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Demonstrated success in business process improvement and re-engineering
  • Demonstrated experience in assessing and optimizing team resources and time commitments, with an eye to increasing productivity and reducing costs
  • Proven ability to manage ambiguity effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, and a demonstrated ability to work with others in an unpredictable environment
  • Flexible personality and schedule to deal with rapidly-changing, time-constrained launch schedules
  • High degree of ownership and accountability
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and diplomacy skills
  • Must be a self starter and have a positive, energetic approach
  • Ability to balance multiple projects or assignments
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, and patient

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with a git client application (Tower, SourceTree, etc.) a plus
  • Experience creating/managing internal tools a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own day-to-day content management operations and tasks in support of product launches, other marketing initiatives, and regular page maintenance
  • Ensure the quality of deliverables to client
  • Collaborate cross-functionally and proactively with internal and external teams
  • High attention to communication standards
  • Work with developer teams to plan page structures and agree upon project approaches
  • Lead multiple projects with the support of the team
  • Manage a team of Content Managers and other individual contributors across multiple projects, taking responsibility for meeting deadlines, driving quality and accuracy, estimating project resourcing, and overall performance of the team
  • Actively balance the work of multiple projects, assignments, and launches in a fast-paced, ever-evolving work environment
  • Build strong partnerships and increase satisfaction with our client by providing support, intelligent recommendations, and operational efficiencies.
  • Work within the content management org to improve documentation and training
  • Maintain complete understanding of the complexities of CMS and other internal tools
  • Troubleshoot system issues as a part of the first line of defense
  • Contribute to the evolution of internal platforms and processes by providing feedback on toolsets, UI, best practices, and workflow optimization
