About The Position

Haynes Development is seeking an experienced Senior construction project manager who orchestrates construction projects, responsible for ensuring its successful completion from start to finish. His/her role is comprehensive, demanding a blend of leadership, technical knowledge and organizational skills. Seeking a highly experienced development and construction professional to take a leadership role in delivering a 30-acre mixed-use retail, commercial, and residential community modeled after Quarry Walk in Oxford. Report directly to ownership and play a central role in guiding a 400± unit residential community and 150,000± square feet of mixed-use retail and commercial space. The project is currently in the entitlement phase and is slated for a September 1, 2026 construction start. Ideal candidate has successfully led complex, multi-phase developments of comparable scale, is comfortable coordinating municipalities, consultants, and contractors, and thrives in an entrepreneurial environment. This is a pivotal role within the company and a unique opportunity for the right individual to help shape a landmark development while supporting the expansion of similar walkable communities in Connecticut. The Senior Project Manager will oversee all phases of real estate development and construction projects from initial concept through occupancy. This leader will manage pre-construction activities such as permitting and design coordination, as well as construction oversight to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest design standards. Additionally, this role will help build and lead a dedicated internal development and construction team, positioning Haynes Group for continued growth and success.

Requirements

  • Progressive experience in real estate development and large-scale construction project management.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from entitlement through closeout.
  • Experience in team building and leadership.
  • Deep understanding of construction processes, contracts, and regulations.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead entitlements and permitting efforts, coordinating with municipalities, agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Manage the design process with architects, engineers, and consultants to align with vision, budget, and schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (leasing, development, finance) to ensure cohesive project planning.
  • Develop detailed budgets, schedules, and feasibility analyses.
  • Oversee internal teams and/or subcontractors to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Monitor schedule, budget, and quality performance, resolving issues proactively.
  • Ensure compliance with local codes, safety regulations, and design intent.
  • Manage project closeout and transition to occupancy.
  • Build and mentor a high-performing internal project management team.
  • Promote collaboration and clear communication across all disciplines.
  • Provide guidance, training, and professional development for junior staff.
