This is responsible work involving program direction, coordination, and implementation at a multipurpose senior activity center for mature adults. This position may report directly to the Senior Center Division Manager and will work at multiple senior center locations. Budget: $19.50 Hourly Please note this position is Grant Funded; FT Hours; with Benefits. The working hours for this position will be Monday-Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm for 35 hours per week. The position is responsible for supporting the daily operations of a senior activity center, which could include planning, implementing, overseeing, and coordinating health, educational, recreational, and nutrition activities; publicizing center classes and special events and assisting participants with registering for classes and events; and providing information about programs and services to seniors and the general public. Maintains records and performs data collection and data entry to prepare required nutrition and health reports (state and federal government). Recruits, motivates, and gives direction to center volunteers. Responds to walk-in and telephone inquiries about services and makes referral to other Office on Aging programs as necessary. Will be required to attend meetings, trainings, community outreach, and provide coverage as needed at other senior activity centers. Perform duties associated with set-up of the center's meal service program, including recruiting and training nutrition program volunteers, set-up, serving, and clean-up of noon meal. May act as a liaison between senior activity center committees, councils, and other community senior organizations. Provides backup to Senior Center Lead Coordinator as needed. Identifies maintenance/facility problems and contacts appropriate County staff for assistance. May be asked to provide administrative assistance at the main office as needed.
