About The Position

Legrand is a global specialist in electrical and digital building infrastructures. Legrand has been in the building-transformation business through electrical switches, wires, cables, controls, and shades, and more recently through audio/video, data centers and lighting.
Legrand is seeking a Senior Buyer who is passionate about building strong supplier partnerships, ensuring reliable material flow, and contributing to high-performing operations within our Data Center Power and Control Division. This role offers the opportunity to influence sourcing strategy, solve meaningful challenges, and collaborate with teams across the organization.

Requirements

• High school diploma required, a Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
• 4–7 years of purchasing or supply chain experience.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems (Infor CloudSuite or SyteLine preferred).
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).
• Willingness to travel 10–15%.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of steel, copper, or electronics commodities a plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate sourcing strategies into effective supplier allocation and ordering plans.
• Lead supplier communications, including forecasting, capacity planning, and performance reviews.
• Manage supplier scorecards and coordinate resolutions to delivery, quality, or performance concerns.
• Support productivity initiatives through cost analysis, process improvements, and value engineering.
• Build positive, solutions-focused relationships with suppliers and internal partners.
• Identify and mitigate risks related to supply continuity, material shortages, and quality issues.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels and resolve supplier-related discrepancies.
• Drive execution of make-versus-buy evaluations using data-driven insights.
• Ensure accuracy and discipline in ERP/MRP processes and purchasing controls.
• Conduct supplier site visits and facilitate supplier business reviews.
