Slack is looking for a Senior Manager, (Sales and Finance) Analytics to join the Data and Insights team. In this role, you will be responsible for leveraging data to help drive the growth and success of the Slack Business Unit. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, can operate independently with minimal guidance, has a growth mindset, collaborates effectively with others, and biases towards action and impact. The Data and Insights team is focused on helping executives and other key decision makers across the company make better decisions using data. We work closely with Data Engineering and GTM Analysts, other Data Scientists at Slack and our partners in GTM, Engineering, and the Finance teams to identify growth opportunities, craft narratives that deepen our understanding of the business to effect positive business outcomes across Sales and Finance The successful candidate will be someone who can balance strategy and operations, can work independently, is an analytic rockstar and team player, and can handle the pressure of presenting to executive leadership Slack has a positive, diverse, and supportive culture—we look for people who are curious, inventive, and work to be a little better every single day. Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional industry experience doing quantitative analysis
  • Proficient in SQL and at least one programming language for data analysis (e.g. Python, R)
  • Experience in Tableau or Looker
  • A related technical degree required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience Partnering with Finance or business team and proficient in unit cost economics and other cost models
  • Deep understanding of GTM models and working with Sales Strategy and Sales Team
  • Applying analytics to uncover potential growth opportunities
  • Crafting narratives for executive audience
  • Advanced degree in Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Math, or other quantitative field (PhDs are a plus)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Slack Sales Strategy teams to understand the drivers of our business and accelerate growth
  • Develop both short-term and long-term cost models for Finance teams to understand Slack’s cost to serve customers
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis, synthesizing insights into crisp narratives for senior leadership
  • Develop frameworks for identifying patterns/trends in customer behavior and implement them in
  • Empower others to be self-sufficient in data by building self-service tools and reports to drive awareness and understanding of key metrics
  • Work with our Data Engineering and Sales & Finance Analysts to build core data models that power operational metrics and exploratory data analyses
