About The Position

This position is responsible for the development and execution of the business architecture process evaluating business needs utilizing current state assessments, actionable capabilities of the organization, level of change effort, sequencing of change and future state objectives that deliver on FedEx Freight corporate strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Transportation, Engineering, Math, IT systems or a related discipline that analyzes complex themes
  • Five (5) years’ relevant strategic and technical experience on large organization-wide projects of which three (3) years consist of building business capability road maps, deconstruction of complex sequencing and major impacts to the projects
  • Strong strategic thinking, including abstract reasoning and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels within the organization
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to create, prepare and present project maps
  • Experience effectively leading project teams, providing direction, guidance, and mentorship
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and visual)

Nice To Haves

  • FedEx operational or business systems development process knowledge preferred
  • Certification in business architecture preferred
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships throughout the organization

Responsibilities

  • Leads collaboration efforts with business and IT architecture stakeholders applying business driven architecture processes to define business capability needs, build out preferred future state framework, roadmaps, and shape prioritization for business initiatives within the FedEx Freight portfolio
  • Combine working knowledge of business operations with technical impacts to deconstruct complex business strategies and concepts into smaller, simplified components that can be sequenced to deliver iterative business value
  • Analyze the impacts to enterprise business capabilities across multiple initiatives using business architecture principles to inform prioritization and direction
  • Provide business architecture and thought leadership for identifying opportunities to support business value delivery through the improvement and/or development of business capabilities
  • Articulate and communicate the connection between the identified business needs and the developed capabilities of the Value Stream roadmaps presenting the impact and influence of broader industry and technology trends on the FedEx Freight strategic business objectives
  • Contribute to the continued growth in understanding and knowledge of business architectural practices, processes and tools throughout FedEx Freight
  • Act as liaison with the Sr. Leadership and business owners to share information and report progress
  • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures
  • Perform other duties as required
