The Business Architect supplements the Personal Insurance business vision with desired capabilities (Epics/Features) and maintains the long term capabilities roadmap aligned to the business strategy. Partners with the business and value stream owners to understand the overarching vision and strategy, advises and propose solutions, then facilitate and consult on the implementation and delivery phases in collaboration with the broader IT organization across the Personal Insurance portfolio. Facilitates capability prioritization activities through examination of opportunity costs, benefits, duration, prerequisites and dependencies enabling informed sequencing and investment decisions Translating strategic objectives into delivery focused initiatives while preserving optionality and alignment to portfolio intent Develop overall business architectural direction and blueprints that will direct the technology roadmap, collaborating with matrixed IT Groups. Creates, maintains, and evolves business capability models, including current‑state and target‑state views, maturity assessments, and gap analysis, to support strategic planning, reuse, and cross‑portfolio alignment Creating process maps and other visuals to bring the intent to life and increase understanding. Documenting current state and identifying and articulating what’s possible. Aligning strategic objectives with requirements and business operations. Maintain business relationships with functional leaders, such that input (goals, challenges, gaps) is captured quarterly, and shared across the SLT. Presents cohesive models, capability blueprints and roadmaps to executives and stakeholders in order to secure consensus on proposed capabilities and business/technology implications. Acts as the lead and/or facilitator on capability development task forces or development and cross‑portfolio initiatives, ensuring alignment across value streams in early phases of the capability life cycle Manages processes and tools to build and maintain capability repositories and Business Architecture views

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks, concepts, emerging trends, and best practices.
  • Solid Industry and specific line of business knowledge and ability to understand competitor or future competitor's strategies and product roadmaps.
  • Ability to develop and articulate a technology innovation vision and roadmap.
  • Proven ability to build commitment and empower others, communicate with clarity, courage and timeliness.
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to learn, continuously improve, and evolve the Business Architecture discipline, incorporating new perspectives, methods, and best practices to increase effectiveness and value delivered.
  • Strong knowledge of software development processes and procedures to understand team needs includes fundamentals of iterative and incremental development.
  • Experience with agile methodology and frameworks like Scrum, Kanban, XP, Product Operating Model, etc.
  • More than five years of demonstrated experience with strategic thinking with strong abilities in relationship management.
  • 10+ years of technology solution experience.
  • Strong understanding of business, operations, & technology alignment.
  • Requires dynamic leadership ability that can work with cross-functional multidiscipline, high-performance work teams.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
  • The company will not support the STEM OPT I-983 Training Plan endorsement for this position.
