About The Position

The Senior Business Analyst is an expert in warehouse management systems, warehouse distribution work streams, and possesses strong analytical skills. They demonstrate strong technical skills to lead change initiatives and support daily WMS operations within the context of a fully integrated warehouse environment. This position partners closely with business stakeholders, operations leaders, and technical teams to define, configure, test, and implement WMS core processed and system-wide enhancements. They will perform analysis to resolve complex issues and recommend solutions to drive continuous improvement and lead cross functional teams throughout the change management life cycle.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience with tier 1 warehouse management systems, Manhattan Associates Active preferred.
  • Experience analyzing multi-system environments including ERP, OMS, TMS, LMS, and reporting platforms.
  • Experience in fully integrated operating environment including MHE, goods-to-person automation, packaging automation, mobile devices, and inline label printing.
  • Demonstrate strong warehousing knowledge in core functional areas: inventory, work orders, order scheduling & fulfillment, yard management, shipping, parcel manifesting, 3rd party logistics, and short run print.
  • Familiarity with WMS integration in a cloud-based environment. Experience analyzing JSON, XML, and other interface message formats.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams including business, operations, technical teams, and 3rd party providers.
  • Balance multiple projects or change initiatives. Lead projects throughout all phases. Mitigate project conflicts and risks. Preferred project management documentation tools: JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Teams.
  • Strong time management, analytical, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to independently lead initiatives and make decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead functional design sessions, perform end-to-end analysis, and define WMS configuration requirements.
  • Act as WMS subject matter expert for new business integrations, facility changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with operations, IT, and cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, document business processes, and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Translate design requirements into workflows, technical specifications, configuration changes, and interface layouts.
  • Evaluate WMS releases, provide new feature recommendations to Operations and Leadership teams. Lead testing cycles for enhancements and new feature rollouts.
  • Partner with IT development and architecture teams to identify impact to warehouse operations and MAWM caused by system-level enhancements and upgrades across applications and infrastructure.
  • Estimate timeline, resources, and budget for new system enhancements and upgrades. Coordinate business analyst(s) and 3rd party providers. Monitor timeline progress, summarize and provide status updates, alert leadership to project conflicts or risks. Prepare alternative options to mitigate potential risks.
  • Configure WMS applications to meet business requirements. Recommend business changes supported by the system’s core functionality. Use system prototyping when applicable to promote change and iterative design/development.
  • Perform system configuration and testing within the WMS. Review interface messages to/from WMS to perform testing or resolve issues. Participate in system implementation activities, cutover planning, and go-live support.
  • Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure alignment and successful delivery of solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex systems issues, analyze root cause, and coordinate resolution with technical teams and 3rd party vendors.
  • Evaluate WMS interactions with other systems, including ERP, OMS, TMS, LMS, WCS, and reporting platforms.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, performance gaps, and opportunities for automation or workflow improvements.
  • Document, track, and resolve production issues with technical leads and 3rd party providers. Provide regular status updates and timing to restore services. Identify reoccurring issues and perform root cause analysis to recommend fixes.
