The Senior Business Analyst - Project Manager is responsible for coordinating day-to-day IT initiatives and ensuring effective collaboration across project management, development, and operations teams. This role serves as a key liaison between business and technical stakeholders, translating business needs into clear, actionable solutions. The primary focus of the position is leading discovery efforts and developing comprehensive project documentation, including business and functional requirements (BRDs/FRDs), process flows, and project plans. The role also supports project execution, process improvement, and cross-functional alignment to ensure successful delivery of IT initiatives. The ideal candidate will have proven experience leading cross-functional teams and driving process improvement, with a strong background in project management, continuous improvement, reporting, or related areas.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in Computer Science or related field with at least 5 years of experience preferred, within an IT environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in lieu of education will be considered.
  • Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and managing projects across multiple departments or business units.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and foster high-performing, collaborative, and customer-focused teams.
  • Strong communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to effectively present to staff, management, and diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Microsoft Project, Visio, and virtual collaboration tools.
  • Ability to effectively engage and work with non-technical end users throughout the design and deployment phases.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience working with relational databases.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of multiple concurrent projects from initiation through closure, applying established project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Develop and manage project plans, including scope, timelines, risks, issues, and change control processes.
  • Monitor project progress, maintain issue and risk logs, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and IT teams to gather, analyze, and communicate requirements.
  • Communicate project updates, milestones, and key decisions clearly to stakeholders, project teams, and leadership.
  • Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and adapt methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) to achieve optimal project outcomes.
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements to support effective solution design.
  • Develop and maintain project artifacts, including business and functional requirements documents (BRDs/FRDs), process flows, status reports, agendas, and meeting minutes.
  • Analyze and map current and future-state business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, efficiency, and automation.
  • Document business processes, system workflows, and procedures to ensure alignment and clear communication across teams.
  • Coordinate testing efforts, including quality assurance and user acceptance testing (UAT), to ensure solutions meet business requirements and project objectives.
  • Support project coordination by maintaining documentation, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating processes and implementing enhancements to improve performance and quality.
