Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience handling or managing bodily injury claims, including complex and high-severity losses.
• Strong understanding of liability principles, medical terminology, injury evaluation, and industry regulations.
• Demonstrated leadership experience with a track record of developing talent and improving team performance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external partners.
• Proven negotiation skills with the ability to resolve claims efficiently and fairly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the end-to-end handling of bodily injury claims, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution.
• Review complex, high-severity, or litigated bodily injury claims, providing expert guidance and direction to adjusters.
• Ensure accurate liability and compensability assessments, applying knowledge of negligence standards, comparative fault, and joint & several liability laws.
• Guide settlement strategies within policy limits to protect policyholders and clients while ensuring fair and defensible outcomes.
• Monitor claim trends, injury patterns, and loss drivers; identify root causes and recommend proactive risk-mitigation strategies.
• Partner with defense counsel on litigated matters, ensuring alignment on strategy, reserves, and case progression.
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of bodily injury claims adjusters, providing ongoing mentorship, technical training, and performance evaluations.
• Foster a collaborative, supportive, and high-performance team culture focused on service excellence and continuous improvement.
• Drive initiatives to improve claims accuracy, efficiency, and consistency across the bodily injury unit.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
