About The Position

As Senior Benefits Analyst/Benefits Project Manager you will be responsible for specific projects focused on process improvement, legal compliance, and/or improved vendor management for benefit plans, programs, and initiatives. You will look at existing programs and processes with fresh eyes and drive process improvement forward to the advantage of the team and participating associates. Day to day you’ll… Identify all key stakeholders for key benefit program processes and gather input from each to ensure current state is defined and documented Identify and define deficiencies, weaknesses or opportunities in current process and assign a risk assessment to each Define project objectives and deliverables for all process improvement efforts and clearly define desired outcomes Align projects with overall total rewards strategy for the company Create recommendations for changes that will meet benefit program goals and strategic direction, ensure compliance, and optimize identified programs. Ensure approved changes are well documented and put into operation effectively Monitor implemented changes to ensure ongoing adoption, measure outcomes/success, and adjust processes as needed Regularly engage with key partner departments such as Payroll, Legal, and Workday systems to ensure that appropriate data is leveraged for projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and related work experience
  • Minimum of 7 years related work experience with responsibility for a variety of benefit plans for a large, self-funded, multi-state employer
  • Must have a strong knowledge and understanding of regulations and compliance requirements across applicable federal, state, and local regulations such as ERISA, ACA, IRC 401(k), IRC Section 125, HIPAA, FMLA, ADAA, and COBRA
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products – PowerPoint, Word, Excel at intermediate to advanced level (pivot tables, v-lookup, queries, advanced formulas, macros)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiar with various HRIS and benefits administration systems (especially Workday) and understanding of connection between benefits administration systems and carrier enrollments
