About The Position

Senior Aviation Analyst – Safety Analysis and Sharing Support Position Overview The Senior Aviation Analyst provides advanced analytical, coordination, and operational support to the Federal Aviation Administration's Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing (ASIAS) program. This role supports aviation safety analysis, safety studies, data-driven decision-making, and safety information sharing across FAA program offices, safety teams, domestic and international partners, and the aerospace community. The Senior Aviation Analyst also supports the planning and execution of safety meetings, conferences, and outreach initiatives that advance FAA safety objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Engineering, Data Science, Safety Management, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8–12 years of experience in aviation safety analysis, safety program support, or regulatory analysis.
  • Experience supporting FAA, DOT, or other Federal aviation safety programs (highly preferred).
  • Familiarity with ASIAS, aviation safety data, and safety management systems (SMS).
  • Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting safety teams, conferences, and technical working groups.

Responsibilities

  • Provide preparatory, on-site, and post-meeting support for aviation safety analysis and information-sharing events.
  • Plan and coordinate regional, national, and international safety team meetings, workshops, and safety conferences.
  • Arrange meeting logistics including venues, facilities, lodging, meals, technical presentations, and exhibit halls.
  • Provide on-site coordination for registration, attendee processing, and required security arrangements.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting minutes, proceedings, and supporting documentation.
  • Develop and disseminate principal publications and outreach materials as directed.
  • Coordinate with vendors, transportation providers, temporary services firms, and partner organizations.
  • Draft and analyze meeting reports and conference summaries.
  • Prepare and distribute meeting records in FAA-approved formats (e.g., PowerPoint, PDF).
  • Ensure contractor identification in all communications and at all meetings and events.
  • Conduct aviation safety analytical studies to support hazard identification and safety risk management.
  • Analyze complex safety data relationships using FAA-sponsored tools, including the ASIAS system.
  • Prepare technical papers, analytical reports, and presentations for FAA leadership and safety teams.
  • Identify and evaluate new data and information sources to enhance aviation safety analysis.
  • Evaluate analytical tools and methodologies for applicability to aviation safety analysis.
  • Develop, maintain, and disseminate analytical models and methodologies for hazard identification and safety performance monitoring.
  • Provide user training and technical support for ASIAS portal resources.
  • Conduct briefings and demonstrations of ASIAS capabilities.
  • Facilitate InfoShare safety conferences to support protected information-sharing.
  • Maintain, enhance, and develop safety performance monitoring models and initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain metadata including definitions, business rules, and contextual information.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) for new ASIAS databases and analytical capabilities.
  • Serve as a conduit for user feedback and continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Support FAA participation in the development, promotion, and adoption of aviation safety data standards.
  • Collaborate with domestic and international aviation data experts, safety organizations, and regulators.
  • Research aviation safety data to support safety teams and working groups.
  • Maintain safety team rosters, distribution lists, and collaboration tools.
  • Facilitate discussions and consensus-building among aviation data experts.
  • Prepare research summaries, outreach materials, and briefing products.
  • Maintain electronic records and databases of valid data values, standards, and taxonomies.
  • Develop data models supporting the establishment and evolution of aviation data standards.
  • Provide logistical and operational support for conferences, seminars, workshops, and large meetings.
  • Analyze conference center and hotel agreements to support FAA approval processes.
  • Conduct site searches for conference venues, lodging, and meeting facilities.
  • Provide on-site coordination, registration, technical, and audiovisual support.
  • Support development of conference approval packages and obtain required FAA approvals.
  • Coordinate production, storage, shipment, setup, and maintenance of audiovisual equipment.
  • Develop and disseminate conference content, publications, and outreach materials.
