The Role We are looking for a Senior Atlassian Solutions Architect / Jira Cloud Administrator to own and evolve our enterprise Atlassian ecosystem — including Jira Software, Jira Service Management (JSM), and Confluence. This is not a break-fix admin role. You will serve as the strategic and technical authority for the platform, partnering directly with engineering and business stakeholders to design scalable workflows, drive process optimization, and unlock measurable value across the organization.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of hands-on Atlassian Cloud administration and solution design experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Deep expertise across Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence — including advanced configuration, automation, and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience architecting and optimizing workflows for software engineering and/or IT service delivery teams.
  • Proficiency with Jira Automation, including native rules, cross-project triggers, and webhook integrations.
  • Experience building executive and operational dashboards using Jira and Confluence reporting tools.
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills — able to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and lead solution design conversations.
  • Proven ability to own a platform end-to-end, including governance, documentation, and change management.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with third-party Marketplace apps (EazyBI, Tempo, ScriptRunner, Structure, or similar) preferred.
  • Familiarity with Atlassian APIs and REST-based integrations preferred.
  • Exposure to Agile delivery frameworks and ITSM practices
  • Experience in a cloud-first, Microsoft 365-integrated enterprise environment a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end administration of Jira Cloud, JSM, and Confluence — including global configuration, permission models, issue hierarchies, custom fields, user and license management, and access governance.
  • Define and maintain a long-term Atlassian platform roadmap aligned to business and engineering priorities, and serve as the internal subject matter expert on new and upcoming Atlassian capabilities.
  • Architect scalable, standardized project configurations and workflow frameworks adoptable across teams, and lead integration design between Atlassian tools and adjacent platforms (e.g., CI/CD, ITSM, identity providers).
  • Partner with engineering, IT, and business teams to assess current-state workflows and design future-state solutions that reduce friction, improve visibility, and scale with the organization.
  • Build and optimize Jira and JSM workflows — including statuses, transitions, validators, post-functions, and SLA configurations — tailored to each team's delivery model (Scrum, Kanban, ITSM).
  • Design, build, and maintain Jira Automation rules to eliminate manual toil, enforce process compliance, and trigger cross-tool actions.
  • Develop and maintain reporting dashboards using Jira's native reporting, Confluence data macros, and third-party tools to surface sprint health, velocity, SLA adherence, and backlog metrics for engineering leads, product managers, and executives.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders across the organization — leading discovery sessions, translating operational needs into Atlassian solutions, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Produce and maintain platform documentation in Confluence covering standards, onboarding guides, workflow runbooks, and change logs.
  • Train and enable end users and team leads, driving self-sufficiency and platform adoption across the organization.
  • Manage the Atlassian Marketplace ecosystem — evaluating, onboarding, and governing third-party apps and integrations.
  • Establish and enforce platform governance standards, naming conventions, and configuration best practices.
