About The Position

The Pfizer Inflammation & Immunology Research Unit (I&I RU) in Cambridge is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist to support in vivo studies in neuroinflammatory and neurodegenerative disease models. A key focus of this role is immunohistology, including tissue processing, immunolabeling, imaging, and quantitative analysis to characterize cellular and molecular responses. The scientist will perform rodent in vivo pharmacology (dosing, surgeries, behavioral assessments) and contribute to integrated mechanistic studies across in vivo, in vitro, and ex vivo platforms. Ex vivo responsibilities also include transcriptional, proteomics, and flow cytometric readouts that complement immunohistological findings. This position offers an opportunity to drive impactful research in neuroinflammation while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary project teams to advance therapeutic discovery. What You Will Achieve In this role, you will: Design, execute, and analyze data from various experiments, including in vitro cell-based assays and functional tissue bath assays. Plan and conduct in vivo studies to support the therapeutic portfolio, including drug formulation and administration through various routes A key focus of this role is immunohistology, including tissue processing, immunolabeling, imaging, and quantitative analysis. Follow procedures for assignments with general instructions and work under moderate supervision with regular review. Identify activities to support team goals and actively participate and contribute as a team member.
