About The Position

Candidate will assist in the execution of sourcing strategies within specific commodity focus area to identify new sources of supply, on-board and develop new suppliers, and manage projects to ensure qualification of suppliers to meet Defense manufacturing requirements. Candidate will need to have acquisition/supply chain knowledge with skills in project management and organizational skills to manage multiple project tasking. Candidate will collaborate with multiple cross-functional personnel, customers, and the suppliers to ensure successful development of new sources of supply.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior category management experience.
  • Graduate Degree or equivalent with 0 to 2 years of prior category management experience.
  • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 6 years of prior category management experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Security Clearance would be preferred, but not necessary.
  • Master degree or focus in supply chain preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills, especially Microsoft Office products, as well as MRP/ERP system knowledge
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task project actions
  • Communication skills to lead meetings and develop presentation packages and business case analysis for review with business leaders

Responsibilities

  • Support and assist the commodity management team in overseeing obsolescence management and tracking of critical materials impacting the production & development programs.
  • Support and assist the commodity management team in monitoring IR&D projects for new material/product insertion.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (e.g., procurement, engineering, quality, operations) to achieve project goals
  • Generate obsolescence management and/or IR&D reporting status.
  • Track project progress, identify potential risks or delays, and validate appropriate risk mitigation strategies.
  • Where applicable, manage IFRs or budgets associated with capacity projects
  • Generate project out brief reports for leadership
  • Travel 25% to supplier locations (could be some international travel as needed)
