About The Position

We are looking for a Senior Art Director to join our Subaru of America client account. This candidate will bring a a high level of craft and experience with pushing conceptual boundaries that will continue our client and agency’s legacy of award-winning work. We are looking for a strong collaborator that is comfortable concepting and executing creative campaigns with copywriter partners who hold a range of experience (mid-level, senior, ACD, and sometimes directly with your CD(s)). This candidate has an exceptional eye for detail, design, and composition across traditional media channels (online video, social, influencer, digital media, experiential, PR). Our next Senior Art Director will have demonstrated experience creating strategically-sound creative with an emphasis on social and OLV production. This candidate must be self-driven and invested in pushing their personal and professional skillsets to continually advance their craft.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 5+ years experience and a portfolio that makes creatives do a double take.
  • Strong ability to work as a team and independently.
  • Production/on-set experience is required for the senior position.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a desire to mentor junior creatives.

Nice To Haves

  • Some supervisory experience preferred.
  • Associated with highly-awarded creative output

Responsibilities

  • Own creative assignments including (but not limited to) video, digital media, social, influencer, and experiential work in collaboration with our copywriter roster assigned full-time to Subaru of America.
  • Ability to prioritize craft and execution that is in-line with client visual-ID, strategic insights, and cultural relevance.
  • Develop a strong understanding of Subaru of America’s business with guidance from your ECD, CDs, account managers, planners, and social experts.
  • Have great creative taste, presentation skills, and ease of Comfortably manage and participate in collaborating with outside suppliers; director/photographer selection, talent, and sound design/music as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with ECD, CDs, project management, account management, brand planning, and social strategy.
  • Ability to effectively translate client and director feedback to implement into creative work.
  • Actively ideates and pitches integrated campaign ideas for designated client(s) to Creative Directors.
  • Actively participates in the Minneapolis advertising community by attending seminars, volunteering for CL-sponsored events, and referring your best and the brightest creative peers to the agency.
  • Actively participates in and contributes to Carmichael Lynch’s culture by attending company-wide events, jumping at opportunities to celebrate your colleagues, and maintaining a positive, inclusive, all-in attitude.
