About The Position

As a Senior Art Director supporting a variety of projects, including the GE Holiday product line, you will lead creative strategy, direction and design across packaging, point-of-purchase displays, and in-store signage for retail environments. You will drive concept development, guide creative execution, and ensure visual excellence and brand integrity across all consumer touchpoints. This role combines hands-on design with cross-functional partnership and creative oversight. You will collaborate closely with internal teams and external creative partners to bring ideas from concept through final production, ensuring all materials ladder up to brand strategy, merchandising priorities, and seasonal marketing goals. You bring a balance of creative leadership, executional rigor, packaging experience, and the ability to inspire designers and contributors toward polished, high-impact outcomes. This full-time position reports to the VP, Creative Director and is expected to work in a hybrid model, which currently includes Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in-office.

Requirements

  • 11+ years of art direction and graphic design experience, including packaging and retail signage
  • Portfolio demonstrating strong packaging, retail design, and multi-touchpoint creative systems
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and familiarity with Figma
  • Experience working with vendors, printers, retouchers, and freelance creative talent
  • Ability to move fluidly between high-level concepting and hands-on execution
  • Strong understanding of brand storytelling in a retail and product context
  • Exceptional communication, visual presentation, and stakeholder-management skills
  • Ability to manage timelines and multiple deliverables while maintaining high creative standards
  • Demonstrated AI literacy, enabling effective understanding, interaction, and critical evaluation of AI technologies and applications across diverse business functions

Responsibilities

  • Concept, design, and develop packaging, in-store signage, and point-of-purchase materials from idea through production
  • Drive brand strategy, seasonal themes, and merchandising insights into compelling creative solutions
  • Ensure all creative output aligns to brand standards and enhances product storytelling in physical retail settings
  • Evaluate and incorporate market and competitive design trends relevant to retail packaging and seasonal décor
  • Partner with internal stakeholders (Creative, Merchandising, Retail Partners) to review creative briefs, gather feedback, and refine deliverables
  • Participate in project check-ins to align on timelines, milestones, and feedback loops
  • Support photography planning, including input on shot lists and prioritizing retouching needs for packaging and point-of-sale executions
  • Provide creative inspiration, guidance and direction to a technical production designer responsible for executing final production files
  • Source, onboard, and art-direct freelance designers, illustrators, retouchers, and other creative resources as needed
  • Elevate creative quality by offering recommendations rooted in design expertise, category awareness, and brand standards
  • Deliver production-ready files for print with accuracy and attention to technical specifications
  • Partner closely with production and print partners to ensure assets are built correctly and optimized for scalability
  • Maintain and update creative collateral, including pitch decks, presentations, and project documentation
  • Steward visual consistency and brand alignment across all printed and in-store materials for the GE Holiday line
  • Leads the team to achieve business outcomes by promoting collaboration and alignment with organizational values; translates company initiatives into a clear vision, aligning team actions with company priorities while fostering performance and professional development
