About The Position

The Senior Applications Engineer is a Senior role within the Enterprise Applications Team that is critical in the support of our client’s application portfolio. This position requires proficiency in all aspects of workstation operating systems deployment, application configuration, integration, implementation, and support. The candidate should be self-driven and self-sufficient and will work closely within other teams within the Strategics Accounts Engineering Group and client contacts to provide high-quality operational and project support.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree.
6 years of experience supporting enterprise and business applications.
Strong understanding of the design, deployment and maintenance of desktop applications.
Ability to complete root cause analysis on application-related issues.
Expert problem-solving skills in multiple operating environments.
Strong organizational skills: ability to prioritize and meet multiple deadlines.
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to troubleshoot connectivity and performance issues that involve application infrastructure.
Ability to complete application-related infrastructure installations.
Ability to research new or alternative application technologies.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with clients on requirements, design and implementation documents.
Strong technical documentation skills
Strong PowerShell scripting.
Strong automated application and operating system deployment using Microsoft Configuration Manager, Intune, Co-Management Roles and Intune Configuration Profiles and Autopilot.
Strong Windows 10/11, Microsoft M365, Group Policy, Active Directory/Entra.
Familiarity with Document Management Systems, VDI, Citrix, and other related programs.
Familiarity with vulnerability scanning tools such as Nessus and Qualys.

Responsibilities

Support clients’ existing core and business applications, including configuration, patching and updates.
Resolve application performance issues and complete root cause resolution.
Research new and alternative technologies and make recommendations for upgrades or changes.
Gather client requirements for configuration, customization and integration and deliver these requirements to the client’s satisfaction. Design, test and implement installation processes for upgrades and new applications.
Provide clear and early communication, ensuring that all relevant parties are kept informed of progress, issues, and difficulties.
Document standard resolutions so that common issues can be resolved without requiring escalation.
Train other staff members as needed.
Work with server and network teams to provide support, guidance and monitoring of infrastructure and equipment related to enterprise applications.
Participate in thorough impact analysis of all assigned application and infrastructure activities and understand the impact of work on systems and the business.
Ensure applications follow security best practices using established standards such as Center for Internet Security.
