About The Position

Senior and Expert Wire Design Engineer (Senior and Expert) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is looking for Senior and Expert Wire Design Engineers to join our team in Tukwila, WA. Boeing Defense Space & Security USAF E7A. This role is responsible for designing wire harnesses and integrating their design with multiple other teams. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 9+ years of wire design experience
  • 5+ years of experience on aerospace programs
  • This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 14 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience with WIRS and CADDStation
  • 7+ years of experience on Commercial Airplanes or Commercial Derivatives
  • Experience with Mentor Graphics Capital wire design tool

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.
  • Leads the team to analyze results and performs design reviews.
  • Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
  • Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
  • Develops complex statements of work, metrics, schedules and budgets.
  • Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
  • Performs technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
  • Analyzes functional and physical input to ensure development of complete integrated design.
