About The Position

Wire Design Engineer (Associate and Experienced) Company: The Boeing Company The Boeing Company is looking for Level Wire Design Engineers (Associate and Experienced) to join the Boeing Defense Space & Security USAF E7 team in Tukwila, WA. This role is responsible for designing wire harnesses and integrating their design with multiple other teams. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 1+ years of wire design experience
  • 2+ years of experience on aerospace programs
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
  • This position must meet export control compliance requirements.
  • To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required.
  • “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
  • Experience designing or supporting electrical wire harness installations
  • Understanding of wire separation requirements and other EME considerations

Responsibilities

  • Supports analysis and design reviews.
  • Analyzes results and supports design reviews.
  • Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
  • Follows documented processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.
  • Supports the development of statements of work.
  • Assists in the technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection.
  • Analyzes functional and physical input to assure development of complete integrated design.
