Current Need: The Senior Analyst, Laboratory Services & Precision Medicine leads network-level laboratory initiatives for The US Oncology Network. This role shapes the vision and strategy for lab services, ensures seamless integration of new practices, and establishes clinical standards that drive quality and consistency. The position also delivers strategic recommendations to improve operational efficiency and profitability, while fostering collaboration across sourcing, revenue cycle, IT, and clinical stakeholders. In addition to core responsibilities, the Senior Analyst will actively support precision medicine and genetics initiatives as needed. This includes collaborating with clinical and laboratory teams to advance personalized care, facilitate the adoption of innovative technologies, and promote best practices in molecular diagnostics.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience in laboratory operations, molecular diagnostics, or precision medicine.
  • 7+ years of experience in laboratory operations, molecular diagnostics, or precision medicine.
  • Experience with CAP, CLIA, and COLA accreditation standards and compliance.
  • Oncology experience required, ideally in a physician-owned lab or non-acute setting.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, business analysis, and operational improvement.
  • Strong understanding of NGS technologies and clinical applications.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and executive presence skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MLS (Medical Laboratory Scientist) training and certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with payer policy navigation and reimbursement strategies for molecular testing.
  • Advanced proficiency in data analytics and performance metrics.
  • Expertise in program/project delivery, including roadmaps, milestones, risk management, and KPIs.
  • Technical acumen in molecular/NGS workflows, validation, and LIMS integration.

Responsibilities

  • Lab Operations and Services Defines and leads Network wide initiatives; develops/nurtures joint venture relationships; champion for overall business objectives as related to practice lab services/operations.
  • Lead integration of new practices into the lab service line, ensuring operational alignment and continuity.
  • Stays updated on relevant regulatory changes that impact lab services and provides guidance on federal regulations regarding laboratory operations, licensing, and compliance requirements, as needed.
  • In coordination with Practice Lab Managers, develops/oversees standardization of SOPs and makes equipment recommendations for The Network, as needed
  • Conducts productivity and comprehensive business assessments; provide actionable strategies to enhance profitability and advise on staffing models, as needed
  • Oversees development/implementation of appropriate training of laboratory personnel for the network.
  • Provides development and mentoring for US Oncology Lab Managers, and other staff as needed.
  • Partner with Strategic Sourcing, Revenue Cycle, and IT to implement strategic initiatives and improve workflows.
  • Oversee development and implementation of an NGS (Next-Generation Sequencing) toolkit to support precision oncology.
  • Works with USON practices to identify challenges with the integration of precision medicine into clinical practice
  • Provides guidance to practices related to precision medicine and NGS test ordering best practices
  • Facilitate ongoing education for laboratory teams on precision medicine concepts, emerging genetic technologies, and clinical applications. Examples: Organize workshops or training sessions on new molecular assays, NGS platforms, or biomarker interpretation.
  • Collaborate with IT and clinical stakeholders to ensure seamless interoperability between laboratory systems and precision medicine platforms.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes in genetics and precision medicine, providing strategic recommendations to keep the organization at the forefront of innovation.
