About The Position

We are seeking exceptional post-doctoral research fellows/scientists to work in the field of precision medicine. The Shah lab at Mayo Clinic focuses on the development of and treatment for an aggressive blood cancer known as TP53-mutated myeloid neoplasm. These leukemias are highly aggressive and have no effective therapies yet. Two general themes in lab include (i) Pathogenesis of TP53mut MN and (ii) Drug discovery. The applicant will focus mainly on the pathogenesis projects. Specifically, we are interested in understanding the sequence of events that leads to the development of the leukemia. Studying these events can hopefully allow to intervene before the leukemia develops. We employ in vitro (using patient samples) and in vivo studies to that end.

Requirements

  • Must have a Ph.D. degree in a field deemed relevant by the program.
  • Candidates should be well versed in standard cellular and molecular biology techniques (cell culture, DNA, RNA, and protein studies, gene editing, and flow cytometry).
  • 1-3 years of experience
  • strong publication record

Nice To Haves

  • Interest and prior experience with mouse work—including xenograft model—is highly desired.
