This role will be responsible for system integration and requirements governance for strategic innovation and business growth product development activities. This role also has responsibility for design to production as well as innovation and advanced development activities to support the Global Product Plan. The role will include high levels of cross functional teaming with non-technical team members including, marketing, consumer design and legal teams. As such a candidate must have exceptional team building and communication capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics
  • 6+ years of experience in product engineering or quality assurance
  • 3+ years of experience with systems engineering, Design Validation Process (DVP), requirements management, trade off assessment and stakeholder interaction
  • 6+ months of product launch experience

  • Master’s degree in Engineering and/or Physics
  • System Engineering Certification (INCOSE)
  • OPEX Black Belt Certified Project leadership role experience
  • Product Development Experience within a consumer products industry

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Concept Validation and Approval
  • Develop Concept Validation plan - identify what requirements and tests must be completed in order to validate concept
  • Own generation of multiple subsystem and system concepts through use of CSMs (Concept Selection Matrix)
  • Deliver proof of concept through test and evaluation
  • Converge and drive alignment to top concept
  • Deliver product Design Validation and Full Product Approval
  • GPA management working with V&V
  • Develop Design Validation Plan - identify what requirements and tests must be completed in order to validate design
  • Accountable for seeing through closure of every DVP requirement through PV
  • Accountable for completion of Safety Sign Off and PHM Closures
  • Accountable to guarantee Codes and Regulatory certifications
  • Accountable to manage technical design and process issues list - drive all issues to closure
  • Support OEM with generation of technical solutions and options for closure of technical issues and missed deliveries to requirements
  • Support OEM with proper experimentation approaches
  • Deliver to project KPI
  • Timing - Generate ideal development plans that support desired OTS (Open to Ship) Commitments
  • Product Cost - Oversee and deliver product technical solutions to manage overall product cost to business case targets
  • CAPEX - Identify efficient designs and options to minimize capital expenditure
  • Project Engineering Expense Management
  • Accountable to manage project engineering expense to established budgets
  • Forecast KitchenAid engineering spend monthly
  • Build Planning
  • Document build configuration and design levels
  • Guarantee adequate build quantity plan to support full development plan
  • Stakeholder Support
  • Participate in claims meetings and support claims validation activities
  • Support product orders, evaluation and Feedback testing (EFT, CUFT) activities with sample readiness and required safety approvals
  • Drive tradeoff discussions to make best compromise decisions satisfying as many stakeholder needs as possible
  • Identify the emergence of new voice of customer and drive system architect engagement and support
  • Support development of CFM and MFM, FOMS
  • Arrange craftsmanship review
  • Design Release and Critical Parameter Management (NEW)
  • Manage release of system CAD and System Level Drawing into Windchill System
  • Manage creation of system drawing with key technical parameters and critical dimension callouts and notes
  • Communicate key parameters to quality team for integration into

  • Accountable to deliver design review approval alignments
  • Lead tech team alignment to design review readiness
  • Lead CAR (CV Approval Review) and DAR (DV Approval Review)
  • Provide technical status updates to leadership and other stakeholders as required
  • Partner with PLO to Identify product development progress defects and utilize ANDON process to elevate
  • Lead technical team meetings (internal and external) with action register management, issues list documentation, etc
  • Sustainable knowledge documentation
  • Creation and management of A3 project deck covering closeout of all technical issues throughout project
  • Updates and contributions to requirements library, system models and design best practice guides
  • Early project scoping and requirements support
  • Support SA with project scoping and requirements development up to G1
