About The Position

The Software Application Engineer will serve as a tier 3 technical resource for the Shiseido warehouse applications. The person in this role will design, develop, test, and review new logic for all applications within the Shiseido warehouse, primarily BlueYonder WMS, based on gathered requirements. They will aid warehouse operations and IT support team as a Tier 2/3 support resource when advanced knowledge of the code base, application architecture, or integration is required.

Requirements

  • BS in Information Technology or equivalent combination of intellectual instruction and work experience
  • Strong understanding of warehouse management systems and integration protocols with peripheral applications
  • Fluency in MOCA and SQL programming language development
  • Functional and technical knowledge of BlueYonder WMS, WLM, and Report Writer
  • Experience developing and supporting .xml-based integration between WMS and SAP ERP applications
  • Understanding of warehouse automation including Warehouse Control Systems (WCS), Voice Directed, Pick-to-Light Systems and RF Technology.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in information technology
  • Application of logic, reasoning and problem solving
  • Strong ability to work with time/date deadlines
  • Ability to motivate and lead people
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Java and Javascript programming languages (Preferred, Not Required)

Responsibilities

  • Act as internal SME regarding the functional and technical capabilities of Shiseido’s WMS (BlueYonder) platforms and all connected systems
  • Develop new, and modify existing code as required by Global or Regional projects, enhancement requests, helpdesk support, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Serve as BlueYonder technical SME in support of the scope and design of projects, enhancements and troubleshooting potential defects
  • Provide unit testing and/or quality assurance peer code review for new development
  • Develop new reports, labels, and associated documents using supported tools (Cognos, BlueYonder Report Writer, NiceLabel, Jasper, and etc.)
  • Provide critical analysis of business data across full supply chain
  • Assist with real-time operations support and helpdesk ticket resolution when needed and when advanced technical knowledge is required
  • Identify trends in reported issues, provide root cause analysis, and solution options
  • Support overall health of the warehouse applications; perform scheduled maintenance related to warehouse application platforms
  • Identify opportunities to schedule / automate manual processes and improve proactive monitoring particularly in the area of helpdesk ticket prevention and overall application performance
  • Ensure change management policies are being adhered to and newly developed logic has corresponding documentation
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer of newly developed logic with peer Analysts, as well as stakeholders and support staff when appropriate
