Job Summary This position supports the Office and Life Sciences Investment Sales team and focuses on the marketing and disposition of commercial real estate assets. Analysts have the opportunity to be involved in every stage of a transaction, including underwriting, market research, property tours, preparation of Broker Opinions of Value and Offering Memorandums, pricing negotiation, closing, and client meetings and events. Will work in a high-energy, team-focused environment.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in a commercial real estate finance or investment sales role preferred; exceptional candidates with demonstrated internship experience in underwriting or capital markets will be considered.
  • Experience analyzing real estate documents, leases, and due diligence materials.
  • Experience utilizing research databases and market data systems to conduct comparable sales analysis and market research.
  • Self-motivated, team-oriented, with strong time management skills to prioritize deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, quantitative, writing, and communication skills; able to interface with clients including their top-level executives.
  • Strong writing skills with ability to communicate analytical and marketing data effectively.
  • Ability to be an independent worker with a team player attitude.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel (financial modeling, DCF, cash flow analysis) required.
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with office and/or life sciences asset classes is a plus.
  • Argus experience strongly preferred.
  • CoStar and/or RCA/MSCI experience a plus.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools and large language models (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to enhance research, writing, and analytical workflows a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare investment sales advisory packages, BOVs, and Offering Memorandums for office and life sciences transactions, including research, advanced Excel-based financial modeling, and composition of executive summaries.
  • Responsible for complex financial modeling of commercial real estate transactions; utilize market and JLL data/comps to correctly underwrite a transaction, including lease-by-lease cash flow analysis, cap rate benchmarking, and comparable sale research.
  • Manage the due diligence process and be the driving force in working through the marketing and closing processes for each transaction, and be in constant communication with the Producer, the market, and the Client. Use information from the marketing process to assist clients in making decisions related to their pricing strategy and go-to-market timing.
  • Must be technically proficient in use of databases and be able to effectively identify what data will be useful to determine trends and for preparation of pitches and client meetings.
  • Must understand and review real estate documents (leases, loan documents, appraisals, etc.) to determine if any issues exist and determine what could be a concern.
  • Support the team in developing asset-level narratives and pricing recommendations to present to the Producer.
  • Begin to build a client network within the industry through meetings, events, and involvement in real estate trade organizations.
  • Participate in weekly office meetings with Producers to discuss deal flow, deal status, market conditions, and new client leads.
