Senior Accounting Specialist
About The Position
The Strategic Business Solutions (SBS) Senior Accounting Specialist serves as an outsourced senior accountant for clients. They are tasked with handling the day to day accounting and finance functions for their clients, as well as overseeing and reviewing work of other SBS Accounting Specialists. Acts as Outsourced Senior Accounting Specialist to assist and advise clients on financial matters Provides Outsourced Controller or CFO with analysis of accounting information for advisory services Uses excellent judgement and analysis to prepares reports and other documents as requested, including financial statements, tax forms, sales tax reports, and others as requested Works as part of a team to provide accounting services for clients Is responsible for the day to day accounting needs for clients, acting as their accounting department Oversees and reviews work of SBS Accounting Specialists Reconciles the client bank statements Calculates month end journal entries and balances GL accounts to support or act as the SBS Controller Is a key point of contact for the client on day to day accounting matters Utilized cloud-based technology to account for transactions in real time Supports other outsourced accountants and their clients Coordinates activities to meet client needs within a specified time frame Uses excellent judgment and analysis to make recommendations to streamline the accounting and finance operations of clients Participates in the area of business development Seeks out opportunities to improve the client relationship and cross sell other BMA services
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business required, a Bachelor’s in Accounting preferred
- 3+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience required
- Licensed CPA or CMA license or working towards obtaining
- Understanding of GAAP guidelines
- Strong technology skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally
- Team player
- Ability to think innovatively
Responsibilities
