About The Position

Job Summary: Under moderate supervision, provides support for month-end closing requirements including fixed assets, intercompany, journal entries, financial reporting and closing requirements. Acts as a liaison between multiple departments to resolve issues or answer inquiries. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Performs senior accounting functions including monthly account reconciliations, monitoring monthly accruals and preparing journal entries in order to ensure proper reporting financials. Maintains and analyzes fixed asset ledger in order to ensure purchases are classified properly and fall within budget. Support monthly and quarterly KPI creation and monitoring. Lead the annual fixed asset count accordingly. Review and approve purchase requisitions for Fixed Asset. Ensures internal controls are operating correctly with the goal of zero deficiencies through JSOX auditing. Investigates and analyzes accounting and financial related data in order to reconcile and audit information. Perform complex fixed asset reconciliation and assists in financial reporting activities in order to ensure proper recording of transactions. Assists with process improvement activities including maintaining and implementing internal controls. Acts as a liaison between internal departments and other DENSO locations in order to resolve outstanding issues. Assist on internal and external audit. Performs monthly financial reporting as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to discuss or transmit primarily factual information to internal and external customers in the normal course of performing duties
  • Strong analytical skills to investigate, interpret and reconcile information from several distinct sources in situations where conclusions or resolutions are discernible
  • Customer service skills to display a service-oriented attitude in addressing and responding to customer issues
  • Intermediate understanding of accounting principles
  • Fixed Asset Software (e.g. Sage, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
  • Cross functional team member
  • Process improvement mindset
  • Intermediate system knowledge in Accounting
  • Ability to take ownership of financial statements
  • Advanced skills in Excel (e.g. Vlookups, sumifs, pivot table, etc.)
  • 2+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/Accounting systems (Oracle experience is a plus)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Automotive or Manufacturing industries preferred
  • Experience working at a public accounting firm in an assurance or similar line of practice
