Caterpillar’s Earthmoving Division has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accounting Consultant that will provide strategic financial guidance for two of Caterpillar’s premier products. In this Senior Accounting Consultant role, you will partner with the business to provide valuable insights to the Motor Grader (MTG) and Medium Tractor Products (MTP) Product Group leadership team. This role will lead all financial planning and analysis activities and provide strategic financial support to the leadership team.

Requirements

  • This position typically requires a bachelor’s degree within Accounting, Finance, or related areas.
  • Strategic Planning: Knowledge of effective planning techniques and ability to contribute to operations (short term), tactical (1-2 years) and strategic (3-5 years) planning in support of the overall business plan.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Judgment and Decision Making: Knowledge of the decision-making process; ability to carefully evaluate the impact of emerging business situations and choose the best path forward communicating actions and activities that maximize organizational performance.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools, and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Knowledge of processes, methods, and tools for financial reporting and analysis; ability to apply finance knowledge appropriately to diverse situations as well as read, interpret, and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic thought leader for MTG and MTP product group team providing insight and analysis driving business decisions.
  • Lead all aspects of financial analysis and reporting processes for MTG and MTP, including monthly management reporting, annual and quarterly forecasting and monthly analysis of results.
  • Partner with the business to drive short and long term strategic insights and solve challenges with a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to drive improvements and process efficiencies into forecasting and results analysis.
