As our new Accounting Consultant, you will assume certain day-to-day responsibilities and various other workloads of the ERP Team members to allow the team members to focus on ERP develop meetings and ERP tasks. A day in the life: Operations: Assist with oversight of daily GL operations by ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger and documentation of procedures where assigned. Assist with managing month-end GL closing process. Assist with management of the annual audit by preparing audit schedules, providing auditors with substantiation and documentation. Assist with managing the Accounts Receivable process by reviewing computerized semi-monthly statements for accuracy; posting payments to Accounts Receivable. Assist with ensuring distributor compliance with company credit policies and procedures by monitoring the credit status of each distributor’s account; enforcing all promises, agreements, or commitments made by Distributor branches; approving all charges made to delinquent accounts; preparing Delinquent Aging Report. Financial Reporting: Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial monthly general ledger closing and comparative variance analysis.  Internal Controls: Ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance & Accounting Department by assisting the Corporate Controller for the following: Confirming accounting policies and procedures are followed. Ensuring compliance with GAAP. Collaborating cross-functionally with FP&A, operations, and business units to ensure consistent application of policies and providing high-quality financial data.  Resource Management: Identifies and recommends to the “ERP Team” process improvements to ensure efficient use of team and technology resources.  Carries out leadership responsibilities, where assigned, in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.     Other: Assists other accounting members and carries out other accounting functions as assigned. Establishes and maintains positive and constructive working relationships with counterparts in other departments by ensuring open lines of communications. What we’re looking for: Education and/or Experience:   Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Accounting/Finance from a four-year college or university; and a minimum of five years of hands-on financial experience in a fast-paced environment with supervisory experience preferred. Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: A Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is preferred, but not required for this role.   Technical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Ability to create financial reports from given information. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of internal control systems. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.   Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to collect data, evaluate results and draw conclusions.  Process Knowledge Skills, and Abilities: Problem solving skills: listening to, interpreting, and meeting the needs of others; diagnosing and rectifying problems. Project management skills:  establishing objectives, timelines and deadlines; action planning to meet deadlines; evaluating current and future positions.
