About The Position

Landing Gear Technologies is an independently owned aerospace Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) company specializing in the repair and overhaul of landing gear systems and a variety of aircraft components. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to support the financial operations of our Aviation MRO organization. This role is critical to ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining GAAP compliance, and supporting the CFO with timely and reliable financial data. The ideal candidate brings strong experience in month-end close, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and inventory accounting—preferably in aviation, manufacturing, or other inventory-intensive industries.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (required)
  • Hands-on experience with Quantum ERP system (required)
  • 3–6+ years of accounting experience, preferably in aviation, manufacturing, or MRO environments
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting
  • Familiarity with inventory and cost accounting concepts
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data and supporting schedules
  • Assist with maintaining accounting policies and internal controls
  • Support external audits and provide required documentation
  • Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes within the Quantum ERP system.
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
  • Perform variance analysis and explain fluctuations
  • Perform monthly bank and balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Assist with cash tracking and reporting
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies
  • Account for aviation parts, rotables, repairables, and consumables
  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory valuation
  • Reconcile inventory subledger to the general ledger
  • Monitor work-in-process (WIP) and assist with proper cost tracking
  • Support physical inventory counts and cycle counts
  • Assist with sales and use tax filings and compliance
  • Ensure proper tax treatment of parts, repairs, and service transactions
  • Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasts
  • Assist with analysis of labor, parts, and overhead costs
  • Provide financial insights to support decision-making
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
  • Collaborate with operations, supply chain, and maintenance teams
  • Support implementation of internal controls and best practices
