About The Position

The Senior Accountant is a key member of the finance team, responsible for supporting the overall accounting and financial operations of Beaver Run Resort. This role includes responsibilities in certain areas and cross-training in others to include Group and AR Accounting, Cash Accounting, Reporting and Management, Owner Accounting, HOA Accounting, Payroll, and General Ledger (GL). The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented accounting professional capable of working independently and managing multiple tasks and priorities while ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This position requires a self-motivated problem solver with strong analytical and reconciliation skills. The Senior Accountant is a collaborative team player and will work with all departments and levels of the organization. This position reports to the Director of Finance and Accounting. Full-time, year-round position with benefits eligibility. Hybrid schedule with required days on site in Breckenridge, CO and potential for some remote days. Transitional housing may be available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience - required
  • 3–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or resort operations - required
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with NetSuite, Springer Miller Systems (SMS) and Infogenesis is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices - required
  • Proficiency in English written and spoken language - required

  • CPA - preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage accounting activities including billing, collections, and account reconciliations for Groups and Wholesale accounts.
  • Cross train with and providing back-up for accounting activities for owners, HOAs, and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist with payroll processing and reconciliations.
  • Manage cash including processing cash payments, disbursements, and petty cash, reconciling cash banks and ensuring secure cash handling
  • Prepare financial reports and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP standards.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Maintain documentation and support for audits, compliance reviews, and internal controls.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and contribute to increased efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function.
