About The Position

The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial reporting to support departments in achieving business objectives. This role will manage general ledger activities, prepare and review journal entries, perform reconciliations, drive process improvements, and ensure financial statements comply with internal and external policies, while assisting in overseeing the HOA Staff Accountant team and supporting all HOA-related accounting functions, including timely and accurate reporting, reconciliations, and compliance requirements. Position: Performs accounting and analysis functions relating to recording of transactions and production of reports and financial statements for assigned business units, including general accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax filings, and annual audits. Provide accounting support to various shared services departments.

Requirements

  • 5 – 6 years’ experience in general ledger accounting and balance sheet reconciliations required
  • Accounting Degree (preferred)
  • Analytical team player, self-motivated and self-starter
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a leader
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel with strong aptitude for data manipulation using advanced functions, formulas, and tables
  • Must be able to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holidays
  • Ability to analyze and interpret large data sets and make recommendations
  • Clearly express information via schedules, tables, charts and commentary to executives or management
  • Ability to work autonomously under tight deadlines and handle multiple complex tasks in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Team player with a desire to be an active participant within the organization
  • Generating Reports in Spreadsheet Format
  • Pull and Analyze Data
  • Strong analytical and data gathering skills
  • Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions

Responsibilities

  • Support the management team with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
  • Generate and maintain monthly analytical reports for business partners, management and executive teams
  • Assist team members, management, and business partners with financial information
  • Investigate questionable data and recommend actions to resolve discrepancies
  • Work on various projects as assigned and continuously find ways to improve through creating efficiencies, streamlining repetitive processes and leveraging technology
  • Prepare and compile monthly balance sheet reconciliations, documentation, support and determine correcting entries
  • Filing, scanning, and maintaining accounting records to include but not limited to journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in organizing, maintaining, and communicating consolidated compliance reports to external partners and institutions as requested
  • Aid in the budgeting and forecasting process
  • Aid in the annual audit process
