Baylor University’s Controller’s Office is looking for a Senior Accountant to support the University’s mission by ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting and accounting operations. This role is responsible for recording, reviewing, analyzing, and reconciling financial transactions in accordance with GAAP and University policies. The Senior accountant serves as a key accounting resource providing guidance to departments and contributing to process improvements, month-end, and year-end close, and financial reporting activities. A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or a related field and 3 years of experience are required. A master's degree, 6 or more years of relevant experience and a CPA license is preferred. The successful candidate will exhibit the following skills, abilities and other characteristics: Strong knowledge of GAAP Advanced analytical and accounting skills Strong attention to detail and accuracy Critical thinking and sound decision-making Project management and process improvement skills Strong problem-solving capabilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professionalism, discretion, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Ability to work independently and collaboratively Ability to interact and coordinate with multiple levels within the organization Ability to navigate complex situations with tact and diplomacy Commitment to compliance with University policies and standards Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.
