Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Assists in the preparation of Statements of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, Statement of Cash Flows and other financial reports. Performs intermediate to advanced range of account analysis and reconciliations. Participates in the closing processes and in the preparation and review of schedules prepared for external audits. Coaches and mentors staff accountants. Reports to Manager of Accounting. Work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Intermediate to advanced range of account analysis and reconciliations Month and Year end closing process and audits, along with monitoring and review of PBC’s for audits Create and establish accounting systems, procedures, and accounting controls Apply advanced knowledge of GAAP and Financial Accounting Standards, practices and procedures; assist in implementing new standards Proficient in Microsoft Excel including advanced features along with solid experience in Microsoft Office Suite Other duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES · May be requested to supervise the work of other accountants on specific projects. It is well lighted and the noise level is moderate.
