Job Description: The Senior Accountant reports directly to the CFO and manages core accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance support, and system enhancements in support of a growing mission-driven organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and advanced Excel skills required.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and audit support.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and internal controls.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a mission-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong experience in nonprofit or financial services accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations in QuickBooks Online, including general ledger, reconciliations, and journal entries.
  • Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Support transition from QuickBooks to a future ERP system.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements and budget-to-actual reports.
  • Develop dashboards, board reports, and financial analyses.
  • Coordinate annual audit preparation and support external auditors.
  • Lead development of the annual organizational budget.
  • Monitor and analyze budget variances throughout the year.
  • Prepare investor compliance reports and ensure accurate submissions.
  • Support regulatory and CDFI-related compliance requirements.
  • Maintain strong documentation standards and internal controls.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to develop financial models and analysis tools.
  • Maintain data integrity and improve reporting processes.
  • Support ERP implementation and system migration initiatives.
